Young Gentlemen’s Club Has Busy Weekend

11 FEBRUARY 2020

Young Gentlemen’s Club Has Busy Weekend

The Dorchester County Young Gentlemen’s Club had a busy weekend on February 8 and 9 with two exciting events for its members.

On Saturday, the Club attended the 3rd Annual Youth Expo at Mace’s Lane Middle School. They heard keynote speaker and entrepreneur Marcus Bullock, Founder and CEO of Flikshop Inc., talk about leveraging challenges to create social change and overcome life’s challenges. Breakout sessions during the event included topics such as healthy relationships, bullying, financial literacy, and school and career options.

Sunday took the Club to College Park to watch the Maryland Terrapins women’s basketball team defeat the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 79-50. This outing provided the young gentlemen the experience of watching a live college Division One sports game, observe good sportsmanship, and be exposed to a college atmosphere.

The Dorchester County Young Gentlemen’s Club’s members come from Mace’s Lane Middle School, North Dorchester Middle School, Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, and North Dorchester High School. Its purpose is to provide opportunities of education and life enhancement to young male students for a brighter future. The Club’s advisors are Mr. Dwayne Lovett, Mr. Shawn Tucker, Mr. Donnell Pinder, and Ms. Karlene Walker.
