21st Century S.T.E.A.M. Virtual Afterschool Program and Tutoring
DCPS Parent/Guardian, I am excited to inform you of the continuation of the 21st Century S.T.E.A.M. program. Our afterschool program is an opportunity to keep students and families connected with teachers and community members through an online learning experience with a focus in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Tutoring and homework assistance is incorporated in the afterschool program however; we have a team of amazing Teachers and Instructional Assistants who are willing to provide individual and small group tutoring for eligible students. Board of Education Amends 2020-2021 School Calendar The Dorchester County Board of Education today unanimously agreed to amend the 2020-2021 school calendar, moving the first day of school for all students to Tuesday, September 8, 2020. This adjustment allows the district and families more time to prepare for the challenges presented by virtual learning, particularly in the areas of electronic device preparation, distribution, and training on the use of the new learning platform for teachers, students, as well as parents.
