The DCPS Fine Arts Department makes the arts accessible to all students by providing Fine Arts instruction for students in grades PreK-12 to explore, develop, and appreciate artistic expression in a variety of forms.

The vision for the DCPS Fine Arts Department is to provide high-quality instruction in music, drama, and visual arts so that students may better understand the various forms of art for personal expression and/or personal enjoyment.

The DCPS curriculum for Fine Arts courses is based on the National Core Arts Standards and the MSDE Fine Arts Standards.
