On February 1, 2025, students, staff, and community members came together at Dorchester Career and Technology Center (DCTC) to revitalize the school’s greenhouse in preparation for the upcoming spring season. The cleanup event was a collaborative effort spearheaded by Mr. Chris Wheedleton to refresh the space and spark conversations about sustainability and future community partnerships.

Volunteers worked diligently on basic cleaning, reorganizing, and resetting the greenhouse to create a thriving environment for new growth. The event was not only an opportunity to maintain the space but also to strengthen community bonds. After the cleanup, participants engaged in discussions on how to promote sustainable practices and maximize the greenhouse’s potential as an educational and environmental resource.

This event was a perfect example of how teamwork and community spirit can drive positive change. By working together, we not only prepared our greenhouse for a new season but also laid the groundwork for future sustainability efforts.

The Dorchester Career and Technology Center extends its gratitude to all who participated and looks forward to continued community engagement in maintaining and utilizing the greenhouse for learning and environmental stewardship
