Our Medical Services students have been working hard this week to learn the skills of measuring blood pressure, pulse and respirations!

Two of our welding students are also participating in the Maryland Youth Apprenticeship Program as welding apprentices at GKD. We are looking forward to seeing what they accomplish this year!





This week our students learned about one of our student organizations, SkillsUSA. Students can become members, attend leadership conferences, compete at local, state and national levels, while learning valuable employability skills! Have your student sign up today!


Biomed students returned to solving a murder mystery to kick off the year to learn critical thinking and team building!

Hello everyone! We are so excited to welcome you back for the 24-25 school year! Our teachers will be at North Dorchester High School and Cambridge South Dorchester High School for the Open Houses on Thursday August 29th from 2-4pm. We hope to see you there!


We are gearing up for the 24-25 school year! Career Coach, Shay Lewis-Sisco was out at the Groove City Culture Fest this past weekend sharing information about our programs!

Students in pltw human body systems got to practice using blood pressure in the arm and ankle to determine cardiac output of patients and determine whether they have peripheral artery disease.

Please help us congratulate our DCTC Seniors! We had a Senior Award Breakfast where students received their cord for graduation as well as their certificate of completions from our programs.











Last night, DCTC was ecstatic to celebrate the accomplishments of our Medical Services Seniors at their pinning ceremony. All 20 students have earned their CNA certifications and some received their GNA certification as well! We are looking forward to hearing about their bright futures!

Last Friday, DCTC hosted an apprenticeship networking event to close out the National Youth Apprenticeship week. There were representatives from Composite Yacht, Hyatt, Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, DCPS, Department of Labor, Upper Sore Workforce Investment Board, Maryland Rural Water Association, Delaware Elevator, and GKD.

Ms. Kay Littleton visited PLTW Biomedical Innovations to teach students how to suture.

Students in PLTW Biomedical Innovations used the knowledge they learned this year on biotechnology to design bionic humans.
