Administrative Changes Announced by Dorchester County Public Schools

 

Dorchester County Public Schools is beginning the 2023-2024 school year with administrative changes in eight of its schools.

 Cambridge-South Dorchester High School has two new Assistant Principals, Ms. Nichole Horton and Ms. Amanda Robinson, both promoted from Instructional Coach roles at the school. Mr. Jerome Stover and Mr. Everett Young remain Principal and Assistant Principal respectively at the school.

 Mr. Gaven Parker has been appointed the new Principal at Choptank Elementary School. Mr. Parker was most recently in administrative roles at Mace’s Lane Middle School. Also joining the school is Ms. Bobbie Matthews, as Assistant Principal. Originally from South Dakota, Ms. Matthews comes to Choptank with 17 years of teaching experience, most recently in Caroline County. Ms. Tiana Powell-Robinson, a former teacher at Choptank, returns to the school, having served as Assistant Principal at Sandy Hill Elementary. Assistant Principal Ms. Kesha Cook is returning to the school for her second year.

 Hurlock Elementary School’s new principal is Ms. Dawn Corkran, who has served at the school for 27 years, first as a teacher and for the last three years as Assistant Principal. Ms. Phylicia Smith, most recently Assistant Principal at C-SD, is now Assistant Principal at Hurlock.            

Mr. Raymond Broy, a teacher at Mace’s Lane Middle School, has been promoted to Assistant Principal at the school. Principals Ms. Patricia Prosser and Ms. Anna Howie will lead the school, with Assistant Principals Ms. Cynitha Woolford and Ms. Jessica Dulin returning.

Maple Elementary has a new principal, Ms. Myesha Ford, formerly the school’s Assistant Principal. Dr. Laurie Barnes has returned to the school from Choptank Elementary as Assistant Principal, with the other Assistant Principal position soon to be filled.

 North Dorchester High School has a new Assistant Principal, Ms. Erin Moore, who comes to the school from Colonel Richardson High in Caroline County. Mr. Mark Pages, who joined the school as an Assistant Principal in March 2023 will stay on in his role, having previously taught in Pennsylvania and Wicomico County. Mr. David Stofa remains the school’s principal.

 Ms. Linda Barnes is the new Assistant Principal at North Dorchester Middle School, having most recently taught at Dorchester Career and Technology Center, and North Dorchester High School before that. Mr. Vaughn Evans remains Principal, supported by veteran Assistant Principals Ms. Karen Bowers and Mr. Adam Wilson.

 Sandy Hill Elementary School also has a new Assistant Principal, with Ms. Clarissa Cooper moving to the school from an Assistant Principal role at Choptank Elementary. The rest of the administrative team remains the same with Principal Deborah Gibson and Assistant Principal Ms. Mary Silva.

 The administrators at other schools remain the same. Ms. Jennifer Green is Principal at South Dorchester School, Vienna Elementary’s Principal is Ms. Susie Price, Principal Marybeth Blake remains at Warwick Elementary, Dorchester Career and Technology Center will still be headed by Principal Ashley Robinson, and Dr. Teresa Berry leads New Directions Learning Academy as Principal.
