NDHS Update

Personal Electronic Devices

Beginning January 2, 2024, students will not be allowed to have personal electronic devices in use or visible in the building from 7:50am to 2:50pm.

-Personal electronic devices must be turned off or put on airplane mode. The device must be stored in a locker.

-Personal devices cannot be in use or visible during instructional hours 7:50am to 2:50pm.

-Exceptions: Any devices that are necessary for medical purposes (i.e. glucose monitors) with a doctor’s note.

-If a student is found with a device in use or visible during instructional hours, it will be confiscated and consequences will follow a progression of disciplinary procedures.

-Here is an interesting article http://tinyurl.com/NDHScellphones which discusses a research study that “recommends a ban on smartphones at school for students of all ages, and says the data are unequivocal, showing that countries that enforce restrictions see improved academic performance and less bullying.”
