DCPS Seeks Public Input on a Proposed Update to our Cell Phone Policy
Dorchester County Public Schools invites students, parents, teachers, and community members to provide feedback on a proposed update to our cell phone policy aimed at improving the learning environment in schools.
Over the past year, the district conducted a pilot program in select schools to test various approaches to cell phone use during the school day. The pilot provided valuable insights into what was needed to update the current policy.
THE DRAFTED POLICY https://5il.co/3lzgo outlines guidelines for cell phone use during school hours as well as consequences for misuse. The district hopes the policy will help minimize distractions in the classroom.
The district is requesting your input about the changes by August 15, 2025. Community members can submit their feedback via email to Nancy Harrington at harringtonn@dcpsmd.org.

🎉 NDHS 2024-2025 Yearbooks Have Arrived! 🎉 Seniors: You’ve already been informed that you need to come back to the building to pick up your yearbook. The front office, guidance office, and I all have the list of who purchased a yearbook, so feel free to ask if you have any questions. Important: Students in grades 9-11 cannot pick up yearbooks for seniors! If you’re in grades 9-11 and want to pick up your yearbook—or if you’re unsure whether you purchased one—please make an eHall pass to see Ms. Reynolds. Interested in buying a yearbook? Quantities are limited, but see Mrs. Hurley in the front office. Yearbooks are $90. Questions? Reach out to Ms. Reynolds or Mrs. Hurley. Don’t miss out! 📚

This past weekend, several of our talented choir members—along with two alumni—had the honor of performing Prayer of the Children as part of the Chorus of Dorchester’s 50th Anniversary Concert. 🎶
Directed by Cookie Brohawn, the concert was not only a celebration of music but also a fundraiser supporting the NDHS and CSD choral programs. Thank you to everyone who came out to help keep the gift of music alive in our public schools! ❤️🎤 #ChoralPride #MusicMatters #NDHSEagles
