The staff competed in a school-wide game of rock, paper, and scissors today. Whoever came out with the most bracelets was the overall winner.
Our lovely Grandma Haddie wanted to say congratulations to our staff challenge winner today, Ms. Johnson.

Congratulations to our September Students of the Month!

Students in Mrs. Mowbray's class love to read with their flashlights out.

Students in Mrs. Bloodsworth class last week practiced their addition, subtraction, and tricky words. They had such a blast while learning! Keep up the great work Bees!

Good morning families. Take a look at our Week at a Glance. Just a reminder, there is no school tomorrow due to parent conferences. Thank you!

Hi everyone! We wanted to start giving weekly updates on all platforms. The monthly newsletters will also be sent so you can have much more of an advance notice on important updates. Just a reminder, uniforms must be worn everyday with the exception of select days. You will know which days in advance.

Last week, students who have earned enough Bees, were able to participate in our "Chalk the Walk" activity. Sadly, it rained right after but if you come up to the building, you may still see some of the beautiful artwork. Ask your child this week, what is one way they S.W.A.R.M(ed) and how can they keep earning those bees.

Our 5th graders were able to visit Tuckahoe State Park this week where they learned all about Maryland's native wildlife. Check out some of their photos.

Students in our Prek4 classes have been learning all about apples during our thematic unit this week! They have learned about the different parts of an apple and the apple life cycle! Today we followed directions to make applesauce and boy was it yummy!

Students in Ms. Lindsay's Kindergarten classroom asked and answered questions about a text and used a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose
opinion pieces about the text.

Grandparent's day is always a blast here at Sandy Hill. Thank you all so much for coming out to enjoy this moment with your grandkids. Lot's of smiling faces all throughout the building today. See you again soon!

Look at our buzzing math Bees! We are looking forward to continuing this trend of growth throughout the year. Go Bees!

Would you like to become a part of our Parent Advisory Council here at SHES? Then come on out and join us for our September meeting. We welcome all new and returning faces. Hope to see you there.

Today was Pride-in-the-Hive Day and what a joyous occasion it was. Students were able to join their other Hive members to celebrate the start of a new year. Lots of dancing and singing while learning how to S.W.A.R.M and learning what it will take to take to earn all of those Bee Bucks. Which Hive will come out on top and win the big surprise trip at the end of the year?
