Cambridge, Maryland – April 2, 2024 – The Dorchester County Public Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce that as part of our process to select the next Superintendent of Schools, we will hold a series of Community Visioning Sessions to engage and discuss the current and future needs for the District.
The Superintendent Search process is designed to engage all district stakeholders, including parents, teachers, administrators, staff, students, and community residents, in developing a shared vision for our future leader. The goal is to select a Superintendent who embodies the values of the community and is dedicated to fostering a culture of collaboration, student achievement, and creating the conditions for success for every individual connected with our school system. The dates and locations of those meetings are:

As previously announced, DCPS has partnered with HYA Associates to help coordinate its search. HYA will assist the Board of Education by facilitating the process of recruiting, vetting, and recommending qualified candidates for comprehensive and inclusive search.
Community Survey
In addition to the community forums, community members currently have the opportunity to participate in the process via a Community Survey to provide an additional opportunity for insights, ideas, and aspirations critical to a successful search. The survey will be accessible from March 27 – April 9, 2024. The survey can be accessed here: https://hyasurvey.com/dorchester. It has also been posted on the DCPS District Website at https://www.dcps.k12.md.us/.
