Ms. Spedden’s 4th grade class did not miss out on a fun introduction to the Mystery Unit. The day we returned from winter break, Ms. Spedden transformed her room into a crime scene, included with a spy theme music track to set the mood. Each student was given a top secret folder. They recorded clues throughout the week to solve the mystery of the stolen painting. Her class is currently reading Clubhouse Mysteries The Buried Bones Mystery. In the near future, a Stem Project will come into play to create Humphrey, our school pet hamster, his own secret clubhouse.

Ms. Alpaugh and Ms. Wright’s classes used break out boxes to be detectives and find out the genre of their next unit! The book they broke out was Puzzletastic Mysteries. They will be reading it and more mysteries including The Clubhouse Mystery. They will also learn how authors use real forensic science facts to make their stories more believable. We can’t wait to read the mysteries they write at the end!
